The loneliest place I have ever been is where I went in my mind as my family fought for its survival. We were in a fierce battle with mental health and shame. In my heart of hearts, I knew I was the only parent living with these types of nightmares. I could not imagine a person compassionate enough to tell me it would be okay.

This site is written by a mom who has lived through the breaking point of her family. It is of lessons learned while putting the pieces back in place. There is no blame or judgment, but an honest attempt to heal through sharing. Hopefully, on this site, will be found the compassionate voice that says it can be okay, and that you are not alone.

It is a sincere attempt to put my journey out there–warts and all. In it, I let go of the stigma of mental health illnesses and am candid, releasing shame and secrets that are difficult not to keep buried. I am not a mental health professional. I am a mom who has learned lessons the hard way. Similar to a mama bear protecting her cub, I will fight for my family until there is no breath left for me to do so.

I am not unique in my journey. Through meeting other families across the country with similar circumstances, I recognized that I am not alone. By sharing, I found healing. I found a tribe that helps on the bad days with advice and encouragement. Theirs come from lessons they learned along their journey.
